swapzies is about creating a single location for your digital media, and for your profile, on the web. At the moment you can have your photos in one place, your vids somewhere else, your blog on MySpace and your music not really anywhere.

By signing up for swapzies you have one account to store and share all your music, photos, videos and more. We hope this makes the community function ten times more useful than a typical `Social Network` site as there is a real ability to share the interests you are talking about. `Social Network` Second Generation, if you like! If you do have a regular social network account or private home page however, you can link directly to this from your swapzies account. (This link is shown on your profile page.) A big focus of swapzies over the next couple of months is to offer unrivalled content straight into your swapzies account. This will include music, TV, podcasts, radio and more.

There are some key functions you get with swapzies which we don`t think you can get anywhere else. You don`t have to download any software applications for all this either:

  1. Unrestricted sharing abilities. You can define file sharing rights for specific friends (or indeed keep things totally private) so you have full control over who accesses what files. There is also the option for every swapzies user to have access to certain files which is great for spreading the word about things you`re really into.

  2. The ability to download files. If you see a file on swapzies you like the look of, you can download it with just a couple of clicks.

  3. Virtually any file type is allowed on swapzies.

  4. You can access your files, for free, from any internet enabled device.

  5. There is a (flash) music and video player which allows you to open and view or listen to your files online.
