The "How to install guide" explains how to overcome that (see setting write permissions). You can turn-off error logging in teamslide 1.4 by changing ALLOW_ERROR_LOGGING in the file "includes/configure.php" to "false". In the upcoming teamslide 1.8, error logging is turned off by default.
