Strange DLL Errors and What They May Mean

When working on your Windows computer, you may come across several strange DLL errors that may leave you baffled. Some examples of DLL errors that you may encounter are listed below:

“rundll32.exe - Unable To Locate Component

This application has failed to start because framedyn.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.”

“IEXPLORE caused an invalid page fault in SHELL32.DLL”

“This application has failed to start because Msvcp71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.”

“Msvcp71.dll is a bad windows image. Please check against your installation diskette.”

There are many causes of DLL errors such as these. Missing DLL files, such as the missing framedyn.dll, shell32.dll and msvcp71.dll errors given above are one of the most common DLL errors. These errors usually occur when one or more required files are either overwritten by older or incompatible versions or the existing files get damaged due to certain hardware problems or malware infections.

To prevent these problems, you must take the following precautions:

Look for any prompts by your system when you are installing or uninstalling programs. You might be informed when any shared DLL or a later version of a DLL is being overwritten or removed. If this is the case, it is recommended that you check your system and choose to overwrite or delete the DLL file only if you are sure it is not going to affect your computer. It is recommended that you do not overwrite the existing files with their older versions.
You must keep your system safe from malware infections. Malware programs, such as virus, worms, Trojans, spyware and adware are one of the major causes of several computer errors including DLL errors. To prevent this, you must install reliable and efficient antivirus and antispyware tools on your computer. It is essential that you keep these tools updated with the latest signatures, and schedule periodic scans to ensure that your system is always safe against these malicious programs.
A malfunctioning motherboard or a faulty RAM chip may also generate DLL errors on your computer. Many times, DLL errors may occur if a hardware component is not seated properly in its slot on the motherboard. Therefore, it is recommended that you open up your PC box, and check that all adapters and connectors are properly seated in their slots. You may also use your vacuum cleaner to remove any dust particles deposited on the components. This helps to prevent overheating of computer components, which is a major cause of PC hardware problems.
You may also encounter DLL errors if the registry of your computer is damaged or fragmented. Problems in the registry occur due to the accumulation of unwanted, obsolete, empty, and invalid entries in the registry. To prevent these problems, it is recommended that you regularly clean your registry with the help of a reliable registry cleaner tool. Doing this will not only help you maintain a healthy registry, but will also help you maintain an error-free, high-speed Windows system for a long time.

If you manage a website or write some code for something, you definitely need a text editor to make your job simpler and easier. Well there are a handful of code editors or text editors available as opensource or freeware as well as shareware and commercial products. Let me enlighten you why and which kind of text editor features you really need.

Some of us we just need to edit some files mostly source codes. Few others need it to modify HTML or similar files editing. So if you do it with notepad then you're really wasting your time understanding and navigating the codes. First we talk about notepad replacements. Windows notepad comes with very limited features that doesn't really help you to solve your problem on a day to day basis. Gmail Now Featuring E-mail Fetcher for Pop3 Mails

Gmail Recently introduced POP e-mail fetching service right from your g-mail account. You'll be able to read email from up to 5 additional accounts, all in one place, and take advantage of all of Gmail's great features. Note that the email accounts you would like to fetch will need to support POP access.

Note: Some free email services don't support POP access at this time and This feature is currently only enabled for a limited number of users.

How to know whether you have this service available for you?

Click Settings from the top of any Gmail page.
Click Accounts.

Look for Get mail from other accounts.

Now Select "Add Another Mail Account"

Now move to Next Step

Add your POP3 Mail Account details, and other options like Labeling your messages and whether you want to leave your mail on the other server.

After Click "Add Account" You'll reach here

At PC World, we spend most of our time talking about products that make your life easier or your work more productive. But it's the lousy ones that linger in our memory long after their shrinkwrap has shriveled, and that make tech editors cry out, "What have I done to deserve this?"

Still, even the worst products deserve recognition (or deprecation). So as we put together our list of World Class winners for 2006, we decided also to spotlight the 25 worst tech products that have been released since PC World began publishing nearly a quarter-century ago.

Picking our list wasn't exactly rocket science; it was more like group therapy. PC World staffers and contributors nominated their candidates and then gave each one the sniff test. We sought the worst of the worst–operating systems that operated badly, hardware that never should have left the factory, applications that spied on us and fed our data to shifty marketers, and products that left a legacy of poor performance and bad behavior.

And because one person's dog can be another's dish, we also devised a (Dis)Honorable Mention list for products that didn't quite achieve universal opprobrium.

Of course, most truly awful ideas never make it out of somebody's garage. Our bottom 25 designees are all relatively well-known items, and many had multimillion-dollar marketing campaigns behind them. In other words, they were made by people who should have known better. In fact, three of the ten worst were made by Microsoft. Coincidence? We think not.

Video-sharing service YouTube rolls out mobile upload, which lets you post a video via email from your video cameraphone.

Similar to Flickr’s upload by email, set up your YouTube upload by email profile and get a secret email address. Then, take a short video on your phone and send it via MMS to that email address. You can set the default privacy level and category in your profile; and create two separate profiles (and get two separate email addresses) for different types of movies (like for public cute cat videos and private cute baby videos). YouTube currently supports uploads from Cingular, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon. But the video quality will not be good as it expects.

TeamSlide has just been launched has many of the features of the other services (WebEx, Placeware, GoToMeeting), is much easier to use (no plugins or other software for host or attendees) and is a fraction of the price. It does require a server side easy installation.

A normal use of WebEx, Placeware, GoToMeeting, etc. is a sales and marketing call. The host, or presenter, sets up the call using WebEx software. The attendees click a link in an email at the scheduled time, and everyone is joined in a virtual meeting. The host is able to share applications (powerpoint, browser, pdf etc.) and make the show running.

A drawback of all of the existing services is price and the need for browser plugins for both hosts and attendees. WebEx and Placeware both have a pricing range of $300 - $375/month, and GoToMeeting is a minimum of $50/month. Killing part of these services are the usage costing. On the other hand Teamslide doesn't require a software or plugin on the both parties (host or attendees). It is powered by Web 2.0 or Ajax technology which is blazing fast that means the host or attendees require just a browser with javascript support.

Teamslide is targeted for web presentations. And they have developed their own plugin for Microsoft Powerpoint. . Which actually converts your slides within a click. It generates a zip containing the slides so that you can upload it right away. This service is similer to Thumbstacks which i've previously mentioned. You can say it's a limitation or a feature of Teamslide that it is meant for Slideshows

Below here i'm going to post a small guide on setting it up and running in no time.

Once you've purchased the package from Teamslide, you'll receive a zip package contain the server script and the powerpoint plugin. Here is what you need to do.

1. Unpack the files into a folder (eg. C:\Teamslide )

2. Install the Powerpoint Plugin using the installer (.msi).

3. Upload all the content of the TS folder into your webhost (use any free FTP client). so your url will be something like www.yourserver.com/TS/

Note : In some cases you'll need to set permissions for few folder in your web hosting directories. (Follow the instructions inside the zip they provide for you)

4. Check Your server requirements using www.yourserver.com/TS/test_server.php . If everything went well on checkup then move to next step.

5. Goto www.yourserver.com/TS/index.php to start setup.

Fill up the Forms according to your needs.

6. After that you'll be inside the admin control panel of Teamslide where you can upload your presentation sets and invite your attendees.

7. Go to your Powerpoint Presentation you want to present online, on the view mode click on the TeamSlide Button to generate a zip file.

8. Now Back to your online control panel click the link "Upload Slideset" and select the file you've just created. Then Click upload to begin upload the file. Once done.. You'll see the uploaded slideset on your left bar

9. Now you're ready to Rock N Roll so lets invite someone to see .. Enter an e-mail address at the "Enter invitation email address(es):" field then press the invite button..

10. Here how the e-mail looks like to the attendee(s).

11. The Attendee click on the E-mail link to perticipate at the show

Then the attendee logged in with the invitation code and he joined the show
