It’s still at alpha/beta staged application and there will be more interface tweaks need to be done, nonetheless it gives you report of your weight and blood pressure in a manner of interactive charts. It’s a nice tool to keep tabs on your health.

Now a days we have digital gadgets and cameras everywhere. Everyday new technologies come out. Digital cameras becoming more complex, featureful and smaller. Well my home country is planning to get into new ride of technology. I was pleased to hear that.

Bangladesh has launched its first submarine fiber-optic cable, allowing high-speed telecommunications that are likely to enhance the country's information technology sector.

"Today, we begin a new journey as Bangladesh enters the information superhighway," Prime Minister Khaleda Zia said Sunday in the coastal town of Cox's Bazar, about 185 miles south of Dhaka, the national capital.

The cable network — covering some 786 miles across the country from the Bay of Bengal — will provide a fiber-optic link with a data-transfer capacity of 10 gigabits per second, compared to the 150 megabit per second bandwidth now used by the state-owned Bangladesh Telegraph and Telephone Board and dozens of private Internet service providers.

The $95.75 million submarine cable is expected to greatly improve Internet and digital telephone connections and make data transfers faster and cheaper. It is also likely to boost lucrative Internet-enabled services like call centers, data processing, e-commerce, telemedicine and distance learning, industry experts said.

The submarine cable is part of a multimillion-dollar) international project being implemented by a 13-nation consortium called South East Asia-Middle East-West Europe-4.

The project extends from Singapore to France with more than 12,430 miles of undersea fiber-optic cables passing through Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and several Middle Eastern countries

Video-sharing service YouTube rolls out mobile upload, which lets you post a video via email from your video cameraphone.

Similar to Flickr’s upload by email, set up your YouTube upload by email profile and get a secret email address. Then, take a short video on your phone and send it via MMS to that email address. You can set the default privacy level and category in your profile; and create two separate profiles (and get two separate email addresses) for different types of movies (like for public cute cat videos and private cute baby videos). YouTube currently supports uploads from Cingular, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon. But the video quality will not be good as it expects.

Getting up right when the alarm goes off can be hard. You know it’s true. Well, Steve Pavlina on his website posted an interesting technique to train yourself to get up when your alarm first goes off—when you really want to!

This is going to sound really stupid, but it works. Practice getting up as soon as your alarm goes off. That’s right — practice. But don’t do it in the morning. Do it during the day when you’re wide awake.
Go to your bedroom, and set the room conditions to match your desired wake-up time as best you can. Darken the room, or practice in the evening just after sunset so it’s already dark. If you sleep in pajamas, put on your pajamas. If you brush your teeth before bed, then brush your teeth. If you take off your glasses or contacts when you sleep, then take those off too.

That seems like a bit of a pain, but it just might work. The idea is to modify your behavior and that wouldn’t be easy. Steve goes on to explain in more detail how to go about this.

Cats are some of the most amazing, intelligent animals on earth. They're also some of the most stubborn. But that doesn't mean they can't be taught to do tricks on command. With a little patience and a lot of love, your kitty can be a world class performer in no time!

Steps:

  1. Arrange training session before cat's regular mealtime. She should be a bit hungry. No need to starve the cat!
  2. Have your cat's favorite treat on hand.
  3. Show kitty the treat. Let her smell it.
  4. Offer your hand that does not have the treat in it by holding it palm up, slightly cupped, in front of kitty's face just above her eye level. In search of the treat, your cat will instinctively put her paw in your hand.
  5. Immediately reward with treat and say "Good girl (or boy)!"
  6. Repeat three or four more times. Begin again either later that day or the next day.
  7. Praise your cat!

Tips:

  • Start training before cat's meal.
  • Reward with a very, very small amount of food until cat performs trick on command.
  • Cats have short attention spans, so don't try for more than 3 to 5 minutes a session.
  • Have patience! It may take two days or more for your cat to learn this trick.
  • Cats are independent creatures and don't train well. If you start them younger for any sort of training they will learn faster and become more responsive to you.

Warning:

  • Avoid forcing the cat to learn a trick. If he's not interested, try again another day.
  • Training may be somewhat stressful for your cat. Take your cat's temperament into consideration before attempting.
  • Declawed cats have very sensitive paws, especially if they were declawed recently. If your cat is the sort of cat that freaks out if you get anywhere near its paws, you may wish to reconsider teaching it this particular trick.
