Gmail Recently introduced POP e-mail fetching service right from your g-mail account. You'll be able to read email from up to 5 additional accounts, all in one place, and take advantage of all of Gmail's great features. Note that the email accounts you would like to fetch will need to support POP access.
Note: Some free email services don't support POP access at this time and This feature is currently only enabled for a limited number of users.
How to know whether you have this service available for you?
Click Settings from the top of any Gmail page.
Click Accounts.
Look for Get mail from other accounts.
Now Select "Add Another Mail Account"

I've been using this program for a quite sometimes now. Looks neat. Most probably Microsoft is trying to get the market of Mozilla Thunderbird. Try it and see.

Greasemonkey script Gmail Encrypt adds encryption to the emails you write in Gmail.
Not all people uses encryption. But when your e-mail does all the Business stuff you should encrypt your conversations. This script can only be used from FireFox and you will need the Greasemonkey extention to make it work.

you can upload a picture of yourself to your Google account, suggest a contact photo for yourself to your friends, and assign photos to your contacts. This feels a bit Friendstery to me, but I have photos of my close friends and family show up on my phone when they call, and it’s a much more helpful quick visual cue to see who’s calling than I thought. I imagine this would work the same way. Also, there’s a new Flash component to Gmail that will emit a sound when someone chats you up on Google Talk and it’s buried in a background tab.
