teamslide
I've Previously wrote about the TeamSlide – Web based presentation management tool . Today Patrick from Teamslide Team informed me that they are going to release the New Version 1.8.8 Tomorrow, souped up with new features and more robustness. They have integrated some of most advanced ajax technologies that made the product more powerful and presentable to audience. Today they have updated their website. Lets go forward and take a look in the Highlights of the New Version.

SkyPE integration (Basic):

Now you can able to send a message or initiate a call to a skype user right from the presentation. Perticipants can join and discuss about the slide. take a look below:

teamslide - make skype calls

teamslide - call a perticipant directly

Remote URL (suggest a link to participants) :

Presenter is now able to send a specific url or link to the current perticipants. It's a great way to let the perticipants visit or refer to a specific url.

teamslide - suggest a remote url

Remote Highlight (use a pointer or draw a rectangle or both to highlight something on a slide):

This is one of the most useful new features introduced in this version where The Presenter is able to Highlight and Draw realtime on the slide which will be visible to all of the perticipants of the slide..

teamslide - highlighted rectangles realtime

Additionaly the Script was improved to be more cross-platform friendly. As for Example now TeamSlide supports IE6, Safari, FireFox and server requirements are more flexible, improved support for IIS and PHP 5 based servers. Rendering is more faster.

TeamSlide is Available at a very affordable Price. You can check other similer services which are not affordable at all. Why not you check their website by yourself. They have an impressive demo which is already setup over their site. So that you can play around with the demo to know more.

TeamSlide – Fast, Lowcost Web Presentation Solution

TeamSlide has just been launched has many of the features of the other services (WebEx, Placeware, GoToMeeting), is much easier to use (no plugins or other software for host or attendees) and is a fraction of the price. It does require a server side easy installation.

A normal use of WebEx, Placeware, GoToMeeting, etc. is a sales and marketing call. The host, or presenter, sets up the call using WebEx software. The attendees click a link in an email at the scheduled time, and everyone is joined in a virtual meeting. The host is able to share applications (powerpoint, browser, pdf etc.) and make the show running.

teamslide2.jpg

A drawback of all of the existing services is price and the need for browser plugins for both hosts and attendees. WebEx and Placeware both have a pricing range of $300 – $375/month, and GoToMeeting is a minimum of $50/month. Killing part of these services are the usage costing. On the other hand Teamslide doesn't require a software or plugin on the both parties (host or attendees). It is powered by Web 2.0 or Ajax technology which is blazing fast that means the host or attendees require just a browser with javascript support.

Teamslide is targeted for web presentations. And they have developed their own plugin for Microsoft Powerpoint. . Which actually converts your slides within a click. It generates a zip containing the slides so that you can upload it right away. This service is similer to Thumbstacks which i've previously mentioned. You can say it's a limitation or a feature of Teamslide that it is meant for Slideshows Cool

Want to Take a Peek inside of TeamSlide .. See more details of the service in their demo

Below here i'm going to post a small guide on setting it up and running in no time. Read the rest of this entry »

ThinkFree Office Online lets you open, edit, create, and save Microsoft Office documents (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) from any browser for, just as you thought, free. ThinkFree Office Online also boasts the ability to:

  • Post documents directly to your blog without any conversion
  • Create powerful Web presentations using a familiar interface
  • Convert your existing documents to PDF format

With the free account (which requires only an email address for registration), you get 30 MB of storage space and full functionality. You can upgrade your account for more storage, though I’m having a tought time finding out how. At any rate, ThinkFree Office Online is an innovative way to access and edit Office documents when you’re away from the desk.

Thinkfree office is Powered by Java and Java Server Pages. .. For Browsers you’ll need to have Sun Java Runtime Environment to Run the Applications
