The Black Stripe is kind of like Flickr meets Friendster with some interesting twists in between and a promise for more down the road.
Basically the goal is true photo networking, or "TPN". A site like flickr, say, is mostly about you, the photographer. Sure you have friends, but that’s just basically a link from your stack of photos to their stack of photos. Black Stripe mixes up the stacks – when I upload a picture of Mary and tag it with ‘Mary’, it appears on Mary’s page.
